A recent post on the KitTalk blog prompted me to pick up and review the Splat book. I've never seen a splat book before and was instantly captivated. Each page is lined with a glossy golden foil (I think gold probably increases book value) and the images on each page are outlined in splatter. That's not all the book is about, the pictures may be splatters, but they're not just random spots, as they are often for a traditional arts and crafts book. Each page seems to be a different concept, some are a literal splash of water, others are colored water with little props added, still others are simple backdrops and props.
Overall it's a neat book. The explanations of the concept and the special effects are well done and the variety of fun shapes and images made this a new idea that I didn't know before. It's a neat gift or even an addition to your personal collection of books.

I didn't even know there was a penguin in my dream! I had a dream about a penguin where it was asking me something about my wrist and I went to pick up my watch to see what it was about. It turned out to be an eye on the back of my watch. I never thought of looking for a weird symbol on a watch, but I do like the eye, I'm thinking of putting one on my next watch.
This blog is just for me, things that I learn, books I read, and things I like. It will mostly be reviews on various topics. I'll try to be objective and not be too biased.
